Pharmacokinetics
α-adrenostimulyator. Adrenoagonists topical works longer than others in this group.
Well absorbed into the systemic circulation, causing prolonged vasoconstrictor effect.After instillation of the drug therapeutic effect develops within 5 minutes and lasts up to 12 hours, with frequent use of the drug duration of action may be reduced to 6 hours.
Pharmacodynamics
α-adrenoagonists, imidazoline derivatives. Causes prolonged peripheral vasoconstriction.Increases blood pressure, increases the pupil. When applied to the mucous membrane renders rapid, pronounced and prolonged vasoconstrictor, anti-inflammatory and anti action. With prolonged use, vasoconstrictor effect gradually decreases (a phenomenon of tachyphylaxis).
Indications for use
Acute conjunctivitis, allergic conjunctivitis, acute rhinitis, acute laryngitis, eye irritation, itching, swelling, and conjunctival hyperemia, tearing, injection of sclera, mucosal edema nasal cavity and nasopharynx.
